Business of the Year

Open to any business working in the green economy, this award will recognise an organisation with a strong track record of promoting and enhancing gender diversity internally and across their sector. The judges will be looking for evidence of a relatively high percentage of women both across the business and in senior positions; effective policies and programmes to boost representation of women and make the workplace more inclusive to diverse talent; how the company has become a supportive environment for women employees; and the organisation’s role in addressing gender inequalities across their sector or region. They will also be looking for how the company can provide a showcase for how other businesses can work to improve the number and seniority of women working in the green economy.


Diversity and Inclusion Strategy of the Year

Open to businesses working in the green economy who have adopted or strengthened a diversity and inclusion strategy in the past 18 months. The judges are looking for effective standalone diversity and inclusion strategies and/or diversity and inclusion policies that form part of a broader CSR, sustainability, or net zero roadmap.


Employer of the Year

Sustainability-focused companies of all sizes are invited to apply for this award, which will celebrate employers within the UK’s green economy who are committed to diversity, inclusion, and breaking down barriers faced by women in business. The best nominees will be able to demonstrate how an organisation’s HR policies and procedures enhance diversity and inclusion and help to actively overcome various barriers faced by women and other marginalised groups in the workplace. They will also be able to provide evidence of how the employer has created an environment in which women employees can prosper and pursue their career goals.


Innovation of the Year

Open to green businesses that have launched a technology, service, and/or business model that promises to boost diversity and promote gender equity in the workplace or across society as a whole. Nominees will be able to showcase a genuinely unique technology, service, and/or business model that challenges current thinking, promises tangible benefits, and has clear potential to tackle a pressing challenges. They will also be able explain how the technology, service and/or business model was developed, detail how it is being used, and provide information on plans for its future deployment at scale.


Small Business of the Year

Open to any small business with fewer than 200 employees, this award will go to an organisation with a strong track record of promoting and enhancing gender diversity internally and/or across their sector. The judges will be looking for evidence of a relatively high percentage of women working both across the business and in senior positions; effective policies and programmes to boost representation of women and make the workplace more inclusive to diverse talent; and the way the company has become a supportive environment for women employees.
