Jacqueline is the Head of Policy and Strategy at Enginuity. Representing over 145,800 UK companies, Enginuity maintains a relentless passion for advanced manufacturing and engineering. As the engine and barometer of the UK economy, the companies represented have a combined workforce of 1.66 million people and generate an annual revenue of £321 billion. She has been instrumental in the design and implementation of new apprenticeship standards in England, working with major employers across a range of industries within the engineering and manufacturing sector. She is currently working with data scientists to create a methodology using sentence encoding algorithms which map and analyse skills gaps in engineering and manufacturing. The application of machine learning may create a paradigm shift in the way we view skills within the context of Industry 4.0 and the green recovery but may also help to consider how a ‘just transition’ may be achieved which combines opportunities for good work as well as business growth and prosperity.
