Christian leads the growth and scale programme for clean growth and infrastructure at Innovate UK and focusses on connecting our innovator community to follow on investment activities. This is delivered through a number of activities including investment showcases, entrepreneur missions and alternative finance with a focus on supporting clean growth businesses to enable them to grow and scale more effectively.

Christian has been at Innovate UK since 2007, joining to develop and deliver the nanoscale technologies and advanced materials strategies utilising his materials science background. In 2012 Christian moved into the energy team to develop and lead its energy systems programme, before taking his current role in December 2016. His industry background focusses around research and business development with Rio Tinto Minerals predominantly in the materials sector.

Christian holds a BEng in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Surrey before he moved directly into industry with experience of working at Johnson Matthey as part of his studies.
