Kaushal Shah comes from a family of paper producers in India, so he knows the packaging world inside out. Kaushal moved to the UK in 2015 to study business at the University of Southampton. While attending a packaging conference in Germany, he first saw the growing need for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs) to improve their green credentials, especially through plastic-free packaging.
Using his family’s production experience, Kaushal started testing waste products as a base for packaging production, focusing on bagasse—a by-product of sugarcane farming.
This new product stood up to quality tests, so Kaushal dove in headfirst and launched envoPAP—while still at University.
Since then he has overseen envoPAP’s growth from a studio startup in St. Johns Wood in London to offices in London, Frankfurt and Pune.
