In this session one leading expert will explore the range of different options available to businesses as they seek to source 100 per cent renewables and slash emissions from their energy use and explain the pros and cons of different approaches.

Panel Discussion: Overcoming the barriers to a net zero energy system –

Decarbonising the energy sector will require a mix of solutions – using alternative fuels and increasing energy efficiency – as well as harnessing nature based solutions and carbon capture and storage to remove existing carbon from the atmosphere. In addition, the National Grid estimates that the energy transition will require additional 120,000 employees over the next decade. This panel session will identify the barriers to faster decarbonisation and ask what can be done by businesses and policymakers to overcome them.
